Goats For Sale

All potential buyers must review our sales policy (see below) and fill out the New Buyer Questionnaire. Once you have taken those steps, if you are looking for breeding stock, please get on our waitlist so we know which specific dam lines and genetics you are interested in purchasing.

Sales Policy

Before You Buy:

We consider our goats part of our family, and for that reason it is very important to us that they all go to good homes. In order to purchase a goat from our farm you must meet the following requirements

  • Goats are instinctively herd animals, if they do not have a companion/"buddy" they get depressed, sick, and often do not thrive. Therefore, you must have more than one goat and/or you are considering purchasing 2 or more. Yes, other animals can be companions, but I would only recommend farm animals of similar size (i.e. not a horse companion).

  • Please understand that we do not sell bottle babies. Our kids are dam-raised as this helps them develop a strong immune system, transition to hay/grain faster, learn to be a goat and learn appropriate herd animal manners. This does not mean our goats are not going to be good pets. Since we are a small farm, our kids are well socialized. We have daily goat snuggles and we pride ourselves in raising goats to love and trust their humans.

  • You must have a safe place of containment for them with plenty of things to climb on. I do reserve the right to ask that you provide photos of your facility (fence, shelter, and other animals that will be housed with your Nigerians)

  • Be knowledgeable on your goat facts and how to take care of them. While I am happy to help you out on your journey as those did before me, you do have to know what you're getting into when bringing goats onto your farm and be prepared before purchase. Goats are just like other animals and they are a long-term commitment (life expectancy of Nigerian Dwarfs is 12-14 years) We’ll work closely with those who are fairly new to goats; however, we reserve the right to turn down any potential buyer that we don’t feel will provide quality care. If you know nothing at all about goats, for the welfare of the animals, we urge you to do some research on goat care before making your first purchase.

  • You must have a veterinarian reference or at least contact info for a veterinarian that provides caprine medicine and emergency call

Sales/Deposits
If you are interested in an animal on my website listed for sale:

  • Please email me or text me to make sure the animal is still available.

  • If the animal is still available, we require 50% of the sale price as a deposit - Paid through Paypal (please choose the family & friends option on Paypal to avoid additional fees) chubbeacresfarm@gmail.com or Venmo (@chubbeacresfarm). We will also accept cash if local.

  • We will NOT hold a goat without a deposit. When the deposit is received, I will mark the animal as “PENDING” on the website. The deposit will hold your kid until 8 weeks of age.

  • I will email you with an approximate date the animal will be ready for pickup. Kids are weaned at 8-9 weeks of age.

  • At the time of pick up for the animal, the other 50% of the sale price is due in full (Venmo or cash only)

  • Deposits are NON-REFUNDABLE under any circumstance. Transfer of deposit from one animal to another will be limited and made on a case by case basis. I reserve the right to return a deposit for any reason at any time. In the unfortunate circumstance of death or illness, the deposit may be directed towards a future kid, or refunded.

Pick up of Animals Sold
I will email you with the date the animal is ready for pickup. In most cases, I will gladly work out pick up times to benefit the buyer especially if multiple goats are purchased. If there is a postponement on our part there are no additional fees, however, if there is a postponement on the buyer's part there is a $10.00 per a day charge for the care/feed of their goat. I will hold the purchased animal for two weeks after the original scheduled pickup date (with daily charges accrued as state above). After two weeks, if the goat has not been picked up the animal may be offered to another buyer and any deposits will be forfeited. We thank you for understanding.

Registration Papers
If an animal is capable of being registered, then I will provide the registration papers for the owner to submit. A goat will be given the ADGA registration papers and the buy is responsible for submitting the transfer paperwork and applicable fees. Once the goat is registered with ADGA it can be registered with NDGA and AGS from the ADGA paperwork (this is the responsibility of the buyer). All of my goats are capable of being triple registered if sold as registered. I will not provide the NDGA and AGS registration papers. Registration papers will not be issued for wethers as pets. If you want registration paperwork to show your wether, you must let me know and a $25 fee for registration papers will be added to your total.

Health Record
All goats leaving our farm will be tattooed, disbudded (within the first week of age unless otherwise pre-arranged) and have current CD/T shots. We do not provide any guarantee on scurs. No animal will leave the farm unless we feel they’re in optimum health. When Chubb E. Acres Farm goats move to their new homes they will each be accompanied with a New Owner Notebook containing all their health records, pedigree information and registration application papers. We will also provide a starter bag of kid feed, 1 flake of hay and a sample pack of treats to make the transition to their new home as easy as possible. We promise that we will be as helpful as possible in the future should you need mentoring as a new goat owner. We are also happy to give you your first lesson in hoof trimming if you are new to goats. We greatly enjoy getting updates on how our kids are doing after leaving the farm as they will always have a special place in our hearts.

Buyers are responsible for the following additional costs

  1. Any additional blood tests or other health-related examinations which are required by the state.

  2. Transfer of Registration Certificates to your name.

  3. Any shipping costs plus the cost of any shipping crates.

Adult/Junior Goat Sales
Since we have a maximum (or rather my husband has set a maximum) number of goats in our herd, each year we have the tough decision of who will move on to new homes and who will stay with us here at Chubb E Acres Farm. Therefore, occasionally we will have junior/adult breeding does ad junior/adult breeding bucks available. If you have your eye set on a particular goat please let us know and we will make note of it for future reference.

Buck Service
We do not offer outside stud service, however, if you purchase a breeding age doe from us and would like her bred before she leaves, we are sometimes able to offer buck service before she leaves our farm. Service fees are $100.00 and doe will then be sold as "exposed". Once fee is received we will issue the necessary Service Memo for registering progeny if requested.

Health Guarantee
All Animals are guaranteed healthy at the time of sale; HOWEVER BECAUSE WE CANNOT CONTROL ANY STRESS THAT MAY OCCUR AS A RESULT OF TRANSPORTATION OR THE ANIMAL’S ENVIRONMENT ONCE THEY LEAVE OUR FARM, WE CANNOT OFFER FURTHER GUARANTEES.

Farm Visits/Biosecurity
We consider biosecurity to be very important for the health of our herd. For this reason we do not allow public farm tours. If you are interested in purchasing one of our goats we will arrange for a scheduled visit and ask that you respect our biosecurity measurements when you arrive. We may elect not to have a goat re-enter our property once they have left our herd. However, we do expect & require (also common courtesy) for the purchaser to always give us first right of refusal on any animal they have purchased from us in the past and find that they need to re-home.

Chubb E Acres Farm, LLC reserves the right to retain any animal born on our farm at any time. We reserve the right to refuse business with anyone for any reason.

By signing below & sending a deposit you agreed to above terms of the sale. All sales are final.
